Long post alert!!
It wasnt my choice when the shop owner took this out of nowhere (of course it was from somewhere, the small room, whatever they named it). The color was yuckie for the first glance. But after wearing it, whoopsie, it actually matches my skin color and the length was good enough. They said im lucky to have it (buying dress) done in few hours. Yeah, because i dont wanna think about the design the color the size availability and all. Gahhh.
Yes, i bought this from an online store and it was delivered the next day. I dont even need to travel to the malls or boutiques! (That is why i love and hate online shopping the most, it brings happiness to me and bitterness to my wallet) it costed me RM28 including shipping fee.
This was taken after the dinner, the hair looked less curl(almost straight) and i looked tired. It was too painful for me to walk here n there with heels. *bangs wall* But it was a nice experience for me to hit the start button for my makeup journey!
I never knew it would involve such a hectic procedure to prepare for attending the prom night. It costed a lot of money and effort but of course i earned out of it (not in terms of money lah duh). From dress to heels to clutch to accesories to hairstyle to makeup and not forgetting, take care of your (in this case, my) face, you/i sure wanna look good (at least fair fair or without acnes lah) in the night, so taking care of the canvas is important! Especially I am not beauty care, make up n dress up regularly type of girl. It definitely was a fresh start for me.
Never forgot to thank my fellow ex-housemate and ex-roommate who helped me a lot in suggesting, advising and (partially) deciding on my overall look!
In the following passages i'll use 'they' if needed. Ahha!
Step 1: buy dress.
I started with this step because they said it was easier to match your other things to your dress!
We were in dilemma of where to go for the 'dress hunting' (either bangsar or kota damansara) after they fetched me from pekeliling (east coast bus station). It was around 4-5, we were considering about the operating hours... Because shopping takes up a lot of time besides traffic jam. We chose kota damansara. Reason? Because there was no decision made and random selection is the way.
Buying dress is never easy. Especially for plus (not really plus's plus, plus.) size girls like me. You have to match your style, your size, your skin color, the dress's color, the dress's length and rawwwrrr gone crazy. We went to a few boutiques, tried a few dresses.
Ohya, deciding on the length was because my herd/gang was all wearing knee length dress, i chose it too. Comforming yada yada. Actually i would go for long dress if i were to attend other dinners, it looks glamorous and elegant!
And, taadaa!

It is advisable for you to buy/ hunt earlier because sometimes if the dress doesnt fit your size well, you still have time for alteration. As for me, i went there thrice at least. First, to shop n buy. Then they send for alteration (good service!) because the dress was a lillll bit more to cover me/my body. Second time, i went to collect the dress, remember to check the dress to see if the size fits. And i (or the tailor?) failed, the size was too loose for me. I succesfully collected it at the third visit.
Step 2: heels!
Heels are the saviour for all ladies. I love heels even though it hurts me, a lot.
We went to bangsar. There is a problem for me again. Im a big footer! I wear 40-41. This was (and is still) a huge problem because the average shoe size is up to 39....even if 40 sometimes the cutting just DOESNT FIT! There were a lot of nice heels, but how?
Finally, we managed to find one in a boutique.
Wasnt my first choice because i plainly dont like lace. But it looks elegant to me after a few tries.
Step 3: matching clutch.
Bling bling clutch doesnt touch ny heart. Most clutches selling outside were highly profiled and highly priced, hence i tried surfing the net and looking for some online stores.
Yes, i bought this from an online store and it was delivered the next day. I dont even need to travel to the malls or boutiques! (That is why i love and hate online shopping the most, it brings happiness to me and bitterness to my wallet) it costed me RM28 including shipping fee.
Step 4: accesories and extra stuff.
Initially, i wanted to buy a feather ear-accesory but i cant find it anywhere in the malls. So at the end i just wore a simple earring without any bangles or necklaces!
But! I bought a pair of new contact lens! (Online~~) it looks pretty natural on my eyes, like it. Since im a regular contact lens user, it was an excuse for me to buy a new pair of lens! (Blahh, my current one was about its time too) It was around 25~30 including shipping fee.
And not forgetting nubra! Since im wearing a tube dress, getting a nubra is a call. You (I) wouldnt want to show your bra strap ma, without bra, it wouldnt look nice either. So i bought online too. It costed me 50+ including shipping fee.
Step 5: makeup/self-makeup.
This is the most important step because i learnt a lot. For this, im more determined than before to learn makeup (to force myself to do/learn makeup).
You would be asking, why not go for makeup services? I considered it before, but its worthless when you pay 120 bucks (the minimum i can find in KL) for a makeup service while you learn nothing from it.
So, from this point onwards, i studied makeups skill, makeup products and stuff from youtube. But it would be looooong enough for me to write about my new yet passionately loved interest. I will write another post about makeups in the later days. To conclude it, it was fun!
Step 6: hairstyling.
This is the most looked forward step ever! I always been wondering how would i look. Which hairstyle should i choose. Which saloon should i go for.
I made the decision after asking them (you know who you are ;D), surveying on the internet and stuff. And lastly number76 was the most recommended ones!

The end product?
Neh, this was freshly from the oven! It wasnt that curl after time passedby. I wanted the curl to be more natural.
I have thought of getting an all up hairstyle but i personally think that it wouldnt fit with my face shape (too big lol). After consulting with the hairstylist, mr. Yoshi suggested to curl my hair. I was afraid that the curl makes me look mature aka older. But nope, as i believe in their technique, the hair was nicely and naturally curled. (Gonna write a review/ first experience of going to the saloon)
Last step: group everything altogether!
My final look after few weeks of 'mental torture' ...
I have to thank to my dear (ex)roommate for your passion for beauty (lol), motivation and your suggestions! Again, you know who you areeeeeee....
Ciao!
